As of publication, the expected amount is roughly 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service’s expected snowfall forecast found on their website here. That amount is comparable to much of the state, though central and north-central Pennsylvania may expect closer to 4 or 5 inches.

A winter weather advisory was issued by the weather service at 12:49 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 for Buncombe and Henderson counties and the mountains of Rutherford and Polk counties. The advisory affects the cities of Fletcher, Candler, Hendersonville, Dana, Asheville, East Flat Rock, Etowah, Black Mountain, Tuxedo, Chimney Rock State Park and Saluda.

More snow is possible in Allegany County, which is under a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Tuesday night. In Wellsville, the NWS forecast calls for 1-2 inches of snow accumulation overnight, followed by an additional 2-4 inches during the day Tuesday. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

At 12:35 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory valid from Tuesday 4 p.m. until Wednesday 7 a.m. for Middlesex and Essex counties.

Later this afternoon and evening are expected to bring the heaviest snowfall and the worst conditions on the roads across a big part of Michigan.

On Monday at 6:20 a.m. a special weather statement was released by the National Weather Service until 8:30 a.m. for Bergen County.
