US weather: Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont upgrade advisories to warnings amid winter storm scare
Winter weather advisories in various parts of the US were upgraded by National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists to a more severe winter storm warning.
The most significant snow accumulations from the winter storm will be north of the Mass Pike and west of I-495.
And it looks like the first winter storm could be on its way next week, at least for some of Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service branch in Norton. Cape Cod is so far predicted to get just rain, no snow.
On Friday at 7:59 p.m. a special weather statement was released by the National Weather Service until 10 p.m. for Northern Worcester as well as Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.
